Overview

The field of cyber security is in need of new talent and training.  There are many avenues that can help widen the pipeline on delivering new entries into the field of cybersecurity.  This webinar will focus on how schools have established their cybersecurity programs that offer 2-year Associate Degrees.  The webinar will explore the type of classes offered as well as the student demographics.  The programs are a great way for new employees or people who wish to embark on a second career.

Jimmy Sanders – Head of Information Security, Netflix DVD

Jimmy Sanders, head of information security at Netflix DVD. Jimmy has spent the better part of two decades securing data and systems from cyber threats and building resilient compliance programs across technology, financial services, and healthcare organizations. At Netflix, he is responsible managing the security for DVD.com. In addition to his duties at Netflix, Jimmy has served as the San Francisco area chapter president of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) since 2014. He also held senior security management roles at organizations that include Samsung, Fiserv, and SAP. He is a Cyber Security Committee advisor for Merritt College, Ohlone College as well as on advisory board for other colleges and non-profit movements. Jimmy Sanders maintains the certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk Information and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM). He holds degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Science from San Jose State University.

Ron Sha – CTO, Lucas Museum

Ron Sha has over 25 years of broad technology and business experience working as VP/CIO in various in high technology companies and startups in software, manufacturing, healthcare and entertainment industry.

Mr. Sha is in a consulting role as CTO for Lucas Museum (http://lucasmuseum.org/)  since October 2017 where Mr. Sha is responsible for technology strategy, architecture, design and implementation of all the technologies related activities which includes computing, big data and networking infrastructure for the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.   

Mr. Sha helped Ohlone Community College establishing its Information Technology programs and curriculums, and in July 2019, US National Security Agency (NSA) designated Ohlone College as the first Northern California community college as NSA National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

Mr. Sha holds multiple U.S. patents, received his M.S. degree in engineering management from the Santa Clara University, and a B.S. degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University.
