I received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico of Milano, where I am currently an Associate Professor. My research interests include malware analysis, cyber-physical systems security, and financial fraud.

I have been a speaker at many international scientific and technical conferences. I am in the review board of Black Hat. I have authored or co-authored over 90 peer reviewed papers.

I am a senior member of the IEEE and a Distinguished Contributor of the IEEE Computer Society, for which I am currently serving in the Board of Governors. I am also a lifetime senior member of the ACM.

I had the honor of being a founding member of the Italian Chapter of ISSA, and of subsequently serving as an International Director for 11 years. I have been named a Fellow of our association. In 2004 I co-founded Secure Network, one of Italy’s most renowned boutique security and penetration testing companies, subsequently acquired by a primary consulting firm. I also co-founded 18months, a mobile ticketing startup, subsequently privately acquired. In 2015 I co-founded BankSealer, a startup using artificial intelligence to combat fraud both in the banking and in the corporate world.
