Sumit Sehgal

Sumit Sehgal is the Chief Technology Strategist focused on HealthCare, State/Local Government and Education verticals for McAfee. His primary focus is on identifying vertical specific needs from a products and practices perspective, that improve and align customer value derived from their investment in security architecture and strategy. In addition, Sumit has leveraged his 20+ years experience in Health IT and Enterprise Technology Architecture to identify priorities that are key in helping roadmap McAfee’s next generation security solutions.

With a passion for understanding best practices of “sustainable” security program design with the ever changing landscape of human factors and technology innovation, Sumit extracts elements from his research interests pertaining to contextualization of information security data to applied enterprise risk and strives to help organizations design and implement practices that influence behavior to achieve organic buy in to information risk management. In addition, Sumit’s areas of research interests include enterprise analytics tie in to traditional SIEM, Workforce generational dynamics and their perspectives on information security risk and finally Nanotechnology.

Prior to current role McAfee, Sumit served as the Chief Information Security Officer for leading academic medical centers located in Boston Massachusetts,  Washington D.C. and the Greater Chicago Area. Sumit is an alumnus from Milwaukee School of Engineering focusing in Software Engineering and holds multiple industry certifications relating to Information Security program management and auditing.
