Dan has over 25 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity, with over 20 of those years in management. His roots in IT started as a self-taught PC technician at SAIC in 1993, where he learned the craft through building computers and software images at home, in the work lab, and at school. He moved into management at SAIC in 1997 and began expanding his knowledge in information assurance as a DoD contractor. Today, he is an experienced cybersecurity executive having built several successful business units as a federal contractor. Dan has a strong track record in developing and leading diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to protect information and achieve business goals. He is currently a trusted advisor to his federal government customers across several skill areas including CISO advisory services, security program management, workforce, risk management and cloud security. He founded the (ISC)2 Northern Virginia chapter, received a BS in Computer Networking from Strayer University and holds active CISSP, PMP and CAP certifications.
