STEM for Her is a non-profit organization that inspires and empowers girls and young women from middle school to college to change the world by excelling in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.  Nanci Schimizzi is a board member and the Director for Strategic Alliances for STEM for Her and a STEM Outreach chair for SIM (Society for Information Management). Nanci will cite research from SIM’s 2016 IT Trends Survey which supports the business need for critical STEM skills in the workplace and will also discuss a number of current programs that are being funded along with the strategic direction that the Foundation is planning to take to support our next generation.   Some of the programs include:  CyberPatriots, Girls in Technology (GIT), Techbridge Washington DC, GirlsInspired, PLEN. 

Nanci Schimizzi, Founder and Senior Management Consultant of Fair Oaks Strategies, LLC which focuses on providing value added strategy and program management services to Senior IT executives. Prior to starting Fair Oaks Strategies, was Vice President at FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). She joined the organization in February 1994 and held various positions focusing on strategy, relationship management, program management, communication and software development.

Louise Peabody, is a former partner at CohnReznick where she focused on clients’ risk management and compliance needs. Louise has more than 25 years of experience in public and private industry accounting which includes financial statement auditing and accounting as well as general business consulting. She served clients in various industries including information technology, government contracting, aviation, and not-for-profit. Her services included the development and assessment of risk management programs related to financial reporting, information technology and operational programs and systems, and business process improvement including process documentation, key business metrics, and implementation of automated solutions to improve business communication and operational efficiencies. She has supported numerous publicly traded companies in internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance with particular focus on the government contracting and technology sectors.

Louise is a CPA and holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and is a Project Management Professional (PMP.) She received the AICPA Elijah Watt Sells Award for excellence in completion of the uniform CPA exam.
