Overview

The WIS SIG will be hosting an opportunity to engage on topic of mentorship with their peers and with advocates in the cyber field. This will be an open and friendly environment where ISSA members should feel safe to discuss their ideas with other members of the ISSA WIS SIG. We will discuss ways to address challenges, seek out opportunities to advance professionally and share experiences. Attendees should walk away feeling that they have had a positive engagement with their peers and be able to do one action to improve their confidence, skills, or career advancement. Our topic for May 5, 2022 will be Goal Setting.

Moderator

Michelle Duquette – Cyber Security Advisor, Battelle

Michelle Duquette is a Cybersecurity Advisor who has supported Government, military and Fortune 500 companies. Through her career, Michelle has advised on implementation and effectiveness of information security programs, Cybersecurity policy management, and has been a part of integrated product teams, providing information risk management and security implementation recommendations. Michelle Duquette currently works with Battelle as a Senior Research Scientist, previously as a Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, and a Software Engineer with Lockheed Martin. Michelle holds a M.S. Computer Science from the George Washington University, and a B.S. in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University. In addition, Michelle is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Mary Tolbert

Mary Tolbert is an accomplished Information Security Leader within the Health Care and Financial industries with the ability to analyze and develop policies and procedures, as well as manage and implement enterprise level projects.  She has a proven ability to provide management, clear communication, mentorship and leadership to teams, allowing those teams to resolve complex technical and organizational issues, which facilitate the creation of structured and accountable customer focused outcomes.  Mary is a member of the Women in Security SIG Committee.
