Dr. Wang will share her own career success story, how she chose this profession, how she evolved to her successful role today. She will give us a view of venture capital in security today, and what venture capital funds look at when considering funding from emerging technologies and trends, and how security fits into that pipeline. Chenxi will give perspective on how we might aspire to this career path—or as an investor, within the Venture Capital field. This will include skillsets, experience, the persona that works best, how negotiations and power of influence come into play, the benefits of such a field, and where and why we may want to engage.
Michelle Duquette – Cyber Security Advisor, Battelle
Michelle Duquette is a Cybersecurity Advisor who has supported Government, military and Fortune 500 companies. Through her career, Michelle has advised on implementation and effectiveness of information security programs, Cybersecurity policy management, and has been a part of integrated product teams, providing information risk management and security implementation recommendations. Michelle Duquette currently works with Battelle as a Senior Research Scientist, previously as a Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, and a Software Engineer with Lockheed Martin. Michelle holds a M.S. Computer Science from the George Washington University, and a B.S. in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University. In addition, Michelle is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
Chenxi Wang – Rain Capital
Dr. Wang is a Fortune 500 Board member, Investor, Forbes contributor, Keynote speaker, and Founder. She is winner of the 2019 Women Investor award, and recipient of an SC Award for Women of Influence. She is an experienced technology/strategy executive with deep technical background (Ph.D. Computer Science), strong analytical skills (VP, Forrester) and extensive GTM know-how. Chenxi is an advocate for equality and diversity in the high-tech field. She is Founder of Equal Respect & the Jane Bond Project. Ms. Wang is skilled in market-product fit, product/GTM strategy, and thought leadership. She is creator of “chenxification” – a noted code obfuscation technique.
