Overview

2021 proved to be an evolutionary year for the cybersecurity industry as malicious threat actors executed advanced cyberattacks on all industries and geographies. Looking forward to 2022, the question on everyone’s mind is “what could be next?”

Lookout security experts will break down how some of their predictions for 2021 panned out, what they’re looking at in 2022 as the biggest threats, and what this means for organizations as they evolve their cybersecurity strategies to keep up with the threat landscape.

Tomm Larson – Cyber Security Awareness Lead, Idaho National Laboratory

Tomm Larson currently serves as the Cyber Security Awareness Lead for Idaho National Laboratory. He has worked in cyber security for almost 20 years. He has had the great privilege of teaching cyber security across the nation and abroad and has worked in corporate, not-for-profit, and government organizations. He holds a B.A. in Communications, a Master’s in Business Administration, the CISSP, and the CISM certification.

Founder/Moderator/Secretary for 16 “SECRT” (Security Round Table) chapters across the US (1000+ Security Executive Members). This is typically an umbrella of many solution components that can be used individually to satisfy specific business requirements or can be used together to provide a holistically secured infrastructure.

Working closely with Enterprises and City/State Governments to enhance security postures with cognitive security and threat hunting spanning Physical Access Control Systems, IT systems, and Industrial Control Systems (SCADA).

Frequent speaker at National executive security conferences and forums. Recipient of IBM awards, member of IBM's Technical Leadership Exchange, and in the past, named among Sun Microsystems' highest community of thought leaders, Principal Technologist / Principal Engineer.

Functionally he remains business driven as a Solutions Architect and Consultant leveraging a depth of experience across different business verticals.

He's well recognized for his subject matter expertise in Threat Intelligence, Authentication and Authorization, Identity Access Management, Governance, Directory Services, Access Control, Messaging and Collaboration, Partner Alliances, and successes in coordinating highly visible projects and teams. Including lead architect for 2 separate Billion user, and many multi-Million user Secured Authentication and Authorization frameworks.

In addition to his customer trusted advisory role, he's frequently developed strong client and partner alliances through strategic events, training programs, and joint offerings.

Steve Cobb – CISO, One Source

Steve Cobb is One Source’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) bringing more than 25 years of leadership consulting surrounding IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, incident response, and cyber threat intelligence. Since joining One Source in 2015, Steve has been responsible for providing strategic IT consulting, delivering an increased organization efficiency and security for our customers. Prior to One Source, he was a Senior Security Engineer with Verizon Managed Security and a Senior Escalation Engineer with Microsoft. Steve serves on several CISO boards and a frequent presenter at conferences such as InfoSecCon, Cyber Defense Summit, and others. Steve attended UNC-CH, but left early to start his own IT company, and ultimately received his degree in Business from East Carolina University. Steve and his wife have two daughters and a son.

Christoph Hebeisen – Security Intelligence Research Director, Lookout

Christoph Hebeisen leads the Security Intelligence Research division at Lookout. In this role he oversees the company's suite of research activities, which cover malware, device compromise, network threats, phishing and threat intelligence services. Previously he worked as a security researcher and later manager of the Vulnerability Research team at TELUS Security Labs. Christoph holds a Ph.D. in Physics and investigated ultrafast molecular dynamics using powerful, short laser pulses before turning his attention to security.
