Cyber Security Skills in Crisis: 3rd Annual Global Survey by ISSA and ESG Open Today

Vienna, VA – December 5, 2018 – The ISSA (Information Systems Security Association) and ESG (Enterprise Strategy Group) have joined forces again to launch the 3rd annual survey on the Life and Times of Cyber Security Professionals.

With stress and burnout a top risk to cyber security professionals, and with the cyber security skills shortage continuing to worsen and causing a rapidly widening business problem – impacting 70% of organizations in 2017 – it has never been more important for information security professionals to have their voice heard. This authoritative research will drive cyber security training, programs, and media headlines around the world for the year to come.

“While there are many studies on the cyber security workforce gap, this is the only one to identify and go after the root cause of the deepening cyber security skills gap and provide actionable steps that every organization can take,” observed Candy Alexander, ISSA International President.

“The cyber security skills shortage represents an existential threat to our national security and the study’s year-over-year comparison data is expected to continue to shed light on this other critical trends,” commented Jon Oltsik, Senior Principal Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG).

The survey is a unique opportunity for cyber security practitioners at all stages, from students and pre-professionals to CISOs, to help advance the future of the profession. First of its kind data this year will also benchmark the impact of new privacy regulations, such as GDPR, and career paths, such as the virtual CISO.

To further entice professionals to complete the survey, the ISSA is offering a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card for all that participate.

The survey closes on December 31, 2018, so be sure to have your say by visiting:
