The use of consumer technology is becoming more and more prevalent in the workplace. Employees are using their smartphones, personal laptops, and social media to perform work functions. This, of course, can have serious repercussions for data integrity, security, and privacy. How do security professionals deal with the detection and security of these devices? Is education the key or just part of the bigger picture?
Ira Winkler - Chief Security Strategist, Technodyne
Speaker Biography:Ira Winkler is currently the Chief Security Strategist at Technodyne. He consults for some of the largest corporations in the world, providing strategic consulting services, such as CISO trusted advisor services, high visibility security assessment services, and awareness training. He began at the National Security Agency where he performed a wide variety of positions for the U.S. and foreign intelligence agencies. As director of technology at the National Computer Security Association, he oversaw their industry-leading antivirus product certification program and established their firewall certification program.
Having formed the Internet Security Advisors Group, it became a leading boutique security firm, primarily serving the Fortune 50. Ira Winkler served as chief security strategist in HP Consulting. Having taught at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland, he regularly contributes to ComputerWorld and other industry publications and is a recipient of the ISSA Hall of Fame award.
Garrett D. Felix, M.S., CISSP - Information Security Officer, MediFit
Speaker Biography:Garrett D. Felix, M.S., CISSP, has spent the past 13 years with MediFit - a national provider of managed health, fitness, and wellness programs to many in the Fortune 500 and as well as various community organizations, and he serves as their Information Security Officer.
As an active member of the Information Security Industry and past ISSA Chapter President, he serves on the: CISO Executive Forum Advisory Council and contributes to various industry and conference committees. Recently, he presented on various risk management issues at conferences in the US and Europe. He teaches courses in Computer and Information Security in addition to serving on the Advisory Board for YTI Career Institute’s Computer Systems program.
Patrick Sweeney - Vice President Product Management, SonicWALL
Speaker Biography:Patrick Sweeney has over 18 years experience in high tech product management. Currently, Mr. Sweeney is SonicWALL’s Vice President of the Network Security Business Unit. Previous positions include Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Minerva Networks, Senior Manager of Product Marketing & Solutions Marketing for Silicon Graphics Inc, Director of Worldwide Sales & Marketing for Articulate Systems, and Senior Product Line Manager for Apple Computer. He holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, CA.
Michael F. Angelo, CRISC, - Chief Security Architect, NetIQ; Chair - ISSA Web Conferences Committee
Moderator Biography:Michael F. Angelo, CRISC, is currently the Chief Security Architect for NetIQ and is the Chair of the ISSA Web Conferences Committee. He is a technical advisor to the US Department of Commerce and is the chair of the team working on security export controls. He has presented on the issue of legislative impact to corporate IT infrastructures at a number of conferences including the ESPP at the US RSA Conference. Amongst his many accomplishments, he is a former Staff Fellow at Compaq and HP with over 25 years in the security world; he has been a Sigma-Xi distinguished Lecturer; and was named Inventor of the Year for the City of Houston (with 51 granted patents in the area of security).
