Joel M. Weise

Board Chair; Distinguished Fellow - Vancouver, BC Chapter

Joel Weise has worked in the field of information security for over 35 years. Joel is also a leading expert on legal and regulatory issues as they relate to information security. Joel is a founding member of the ISSA, the chairman of the ISSA Journal Editorial Advisory Board, and a member of and Subject Matter Expert for the American Bar Association Science and Technology working committee. His other interests include the elaboration of adaptive security, complex adaptive systems, security governance, security maturity modeling and privacy.


Phillip Griffin

Fellow - Raleigh Chapter

Phillip, CISM, has over 20 years of information assurance experience has served as a trusted security adviser, security architect, and consultant with leading corporations. He has acted as committee chair, editor, and head of delegation in the development of US national and international security standards, and he currently serves on the ISSA Educational Advisory Council. His current work encompasses encryption technologies, access control, and biometric information security management policy. Phil has nine US patents at the intersection of biometrics, RFID, and information security, a number of academic and professional technical publications, and he has spoken at leading security conferences around the world.


Michael R. Grimaila

Fellow - Dayton Chapter

Michael Russell Grimaila (BS, MS, PhD, Texas A&M University) is a Professor and Head of the Systems Engineering and Management department at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He is a member of the Center for Cyberspace Research (CCR) and the Air Force Cyberspace Technical Center of Excellence (CyTCoE). He has worked in the information security area for more than twenty-eight years and currently holds CISSP, CISM, and NSA IAM/IEM certifications. Michael teaches and conducts research in the areas of communications, computer and network security, database, information assurance and security, information warfare, and mission assurance. He has served as an Editorial Advisory Board member of the ISSA Journal since its inception and consults for numerous Department of Defense organizations. His professional society memberships include the ACM, ISACA, (ISC)2; he is a senior member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the ISSA.


John Jordan

Senior Member - North Texas Chapter

John Jordan, CISSP, has worked in information security for over 15 years and in information technology for over 30 years. He has developed a broad infosec skill set, having held such positions as Security Architect, Software Development Manager, and Security Manager. John has spent much of his time in access, data, and risk management, regulatory compliance, and policy deployment developing solutions and practices to enable the effective and appropriate use of information. He is an active member of the North Texas Chapter and has served on the EAB since 2008.


Mollie Krehnke

Fellow - Raleigh Chapter

Mollie Krehnke, CISSP, CAP, CHS-II, IAM, is a senior information security consultant residing in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has worked for over 20 years in the information security field in the assessment and implementation of information security technologies, policies, practices, procedures, and protection mechanisms in support of organizational objectives for numerous federal agencies, government contractors, and private organizations. Mollie has contributed various chapters to the (ISC)2 Information Security Management Handbook, was one of eight individuals who restarted the ISSA Raleigh Chapter, and has served on the EAB since its inception.


Joe Malec

Fellow - St. Louis Chapter

Joe Malec currently works in the financial services industry and has over 20 years of experience in information technology. He has been involved in leading security projects, managing incidents, and performing internal and external risk assessments. Joe has spoken at conferences and has appeared on TV and radio to discuss IT security issues. He has published multiple articles on topics including compliance, privacy, and ethics in information security and has co-authored a monthly column in the ISSA Journal. Joe has been quoted in Processor magazine and PC Today and has served on the local St. Louis boards of the ISSA and InfraGard as well as the ISSA International Ethics Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Business.


Donn B. Parker

Distinguished Fellow - Silicon Valley Chapter

Donn B. Parker - retired, CISSP, Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery - has specialized in information security consulting for many of the largest corporations and engaged in computer crime research at SRI International for 35 of his 50 years in the computer field. He has written numerous books, papers, articles, and reports in his specialty based on interviews of more than 200 computer criminals and security reviews of 250 large corporations. His sixth book, Fighting Computer Crime, a New Framework for Protecting Information, was published 1998. Donn wrote the computer security and computer crime articles for Computer Science, Encarta, Grolier, and Britannica Encyclopedias and has lectured worldwide.Donn received the 1992 ISSA Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement, the 1994 National Computer System Security Award from US NIST/NCSC, The Aerospace Computer Security Associates 1994 Distinguished Lecturer award, and The MIS Training Institute Infosecurity News 1996 Lifetime Achievement Award. The Information Security Magazine identified him as one of the five top Infosecurity Pioneers (1999). The ISSA inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2000, and he was inducted into the SRI International Alumni Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2003, (ISC)2presented him with the Harold F. Tipton lifetime achievement award in recognition of his sustained excellence throughout his Information Security career and his contributions to the industry and support of (ISC)2.


Kris Tanaka

Portland Chapter

Kris Tanaka is the Content Marketing Strategist for SecureWorld Expo and editor of the SecureWorld Post. Prior to joining the SecureWorld team, she served as the Events and Communications Manager for ISSA International and was responsible for producing the association’s e-publications including E-NEWS and the monthly chapter leaders’ newsletter, FYI. Kris has a BA in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She currently co-authors a monthly column in the ISSA Journal.


Branden R. Williams

Distinguished Fellow - North Texas Chapter

Branden R. Williams (DBA, CISSP, CISM) has almost twenty years of experience in technology and information security both as a consultant and an executive. Early in his career, he worked for educational institutions and infrastructure providers to put technology in the hands of the masses. Branden co-founded a technology services company that provided the foundation to a prominent e-learning company, and then worked for the primary investor to analyze potential investments and secure existing portfolio companies. His specialty is navigating complex landscapes—be it compliance, security, technology, or business—and finding innovative solutions that save companies money while reducing risk and improving performance. Branden has experience in many of the technologies that drive today’s businesses, as well as the theories that drive how they are implemented in practice. Branden, an ISSA Fellow, served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dallas’s Graduate School of Management, where he taught in their NSA Certified Information Assurance program.
