Opening up a Second Front on Risk Management: Integrating Cybersecurity Requirements into Enterprise Architecture, Systems Engineering, Acquisition, and the SDLC

For decades, we have been developing comprehensive cybersecurity standards and guidelines in both the public an private sectors. Yet, despite our best efforts, we have yet to realize the full potential of the standards, guidelines, and associated technologies because of an inability to fully integrate cybersecurity requirements into main stream organizational mission and business processes including enterprise architecture, the system development life cycle, systems engineering, and acquisition. Stove piping cybersecurity programs and initiatives and not linking cybersecurity investments closer to the cost, schedule, and performance issues that are the main focus of mission/business owners and program managers, has had a negative effect on senior leaders being able to effectively manage cybersecurity-related risks in a world of increasing sophisticated and complex cyber threats.

Moving the Cheese: The Invention of Migratory Resource Protection

The advancement of security threats, defensive technologies, and advanced threat management platforms doesn’t seem to be slowing the continuing onslaught of cyber attacks, infiltrations and data theft. So it’s time to move the cheese. Utilizing advanced concepts in technology environment virtualization, the instantiation of active defense protocols, and the introduction of artificial intelligence as a means of counter intelligence threat discovery, the roadmap to migratory resource protection is at hand. Roland will walk through the principals, the building blocks, and the timeline to a methodology that will enable a covered approach to cyber defense, business resiliency, and e-crime management.
