As we become more integrated into the cloud and as we embrace consumerization with open arms, what repercussions will this have on asset management? This session will explore how we manage our assets in the cloud amongst a growing culture of consumerization.


William Perry
Chief Information Security Officer, California State University, Chancellor's Office

William Perry is the Chief Information Security Officer for the California State University Chancellor’s Office. He is responsible for information security system-wide and the security technologies operating within the department, including the development and implementation of system-wide security policies, security architecture, and consistent standards and procedures. William has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology and security industry and has held positions at Union Bank, Bank of the West, International Data Services, Comedy World Radio and Office System solutions. While working at one of his first positions in technology, Wiloroco, a Prime for the US Navy, he designed, created and implemented their first ever data integrity and authentication software, which tripled their productivity and earnings from the following year. William holds a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Business Information Systems from CSU Long Beach and is a Spring 2013 MBA Candidate from CSU Dominquez Hills. He is also a member of the PMI institute.

William has always enjoyed giving back to his community and started a successful afterschool mentorship program for the Long Beach Unified School District, which at its height had 200 plus mentors working with students from ten LBUSD schools.

Michael A. Panico
Vice President, Seattle Office, Stroz Friedberg, LLC

Michael A. Panico is a Vice President in the Seattle Office of Stroz Friedberg, LLC. In this practice, he assists some of America's most prominent companies with all aspects of digital risk management and forensics, specializing in incident response, data-breach investigations and in security risk consulting. Michael has over 12 years of information security and IR experience, most notably as a Supervisory Special Agent in the Cyber Division of the FBI. Prior to joining Stroz Friedberg, he created and led the Incident Response team for Microsoft's Online Services Security and Compliance organization, and eventually managed all of the teams responsible for security engineering, security operations, and vulnerability management for Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. Michael holds the CISSP, CISM, CISA and GCFA certifications.

Don Gray
Chief Security Strategist, Solutionary

A veteran of technology applications development since 1991, Don Gray brings "in-the-trenches” information security experience to his role as Solutionary’s Chief Security Strategist. In his role, Don leads the Security Engineering Research Team (SERT) and is directly involved with researching new threats and overall information security trends. Gray is regularly quoted in the media as an information security expert and is a frequent speaker at industry events including Gartner Security Summit, Forrester Security Forum, CSO Breakfast Club series and key channel partner events.

Don joined Solutionary through its acquisition of VigilantMinds, where he was a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to that, he was a technologist for companies like marchFIRST, Idea Integration and Mellon Bank. Don received a B.S. in Computer Based Systems Management from California University of Pennsylvania.

Allan Wall
ISSA Web Conference Committee, Session Moderator

Allan Wall has been working within the IT industry for over twenty years, the last seventeen in the field of information security. For the majority of that time, he was responsible for managing a team of IT Risk Management focused pre-sales systems engineers / consultants for Symantec in the UK. He is currently an information security consultant largely focused on delivering CISO-type services for SME’s. A CISSP for 9 years, Allan is a Founder Associate Member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals and a Fellow of the British Computer Society. He has participated on a number of ISSA UK expert panels and he serves on the ISSA UK management team as Director of Academic Liaison.

Allan has a BSc in Biochemistry and Genetics and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Newcastle University (UK), and a Masters in Information Security from Royal Holloway University of London. He appears regularly as a specialist presenter at information security events, and as a workshop facilitator. He is a guest lecturer for the MSc in Information Security at Royal Holloway University of London.
