Big Data, what good is it? Given all the data we have seen it has become obvious that we can use it for more than we are currently thinking of. It can be used for predictive security analytics as well as for forensic analysis. With big data these can even be combined to be Continuous Forensic Analytics. Please join us as we hear from Dipto Chakravarty, and Tyrone Wilson talk about the state of cyber security today, how threat intelligence and big data can be combined operationally, and what the future of Continuous Forensic Analytics looks like.

Matt Mosley has been working as a security professional for more than 20 years in roles within corporate IT and risk management, strategic consulting, and product development. In his current role with Symantec, Matt is responsible for product strategy for managed security services. Prior to this role, Matt held senior leadership roles with leading security firms including NetIQ, Internet Security Systems, Intellitactics and Brabeion Software. Matt holds the CISSP, CISM, and CISA designations, teaches CISSP courses for ISSA-NOVA, and is a frequent speaker at security conferences.
Dipto Chakravarty is the author of several best-selling books from McGraw-Hill and Wiley. He has published over 45 papers, has 11 patents to his credit, and holds a B.S and M.S in CS and EE from U. of Maryland, and GMP from Harvard Business School.
He is a recognized expert on cyber security and cloud computing, and is currently at Altamira driving open source security for the national intelligence market. He is a seasoned executive with experience running global businesses at IBM, Novell, Thomson-Reuters, exiting 3 venture-backed startups, and leading mgmt. buyout with private equity funding.
Cyber Security Senior Analyst, Novetta
Tyrone E. Wilson is a Novetta Cyber Security Senior Analyst with nearly 20 years of operational cyber security experience. He has led fusion teams tracking advanced persistent threats at various DoD agencies and has led penetration testing efforts on many large enterprises. He is also the organizer of the D.C. Cyber Security Professionals, an 1100+ person InfoSec networking group. Tyrone serves as a U.S. Army Reservist at the 1st Information Operations Command as the Cyber Detachment Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge and is a primary instructor overseeing the development and delivery of Information Security, Penetration Testing and IPv6 training.
