Impact on Financial Institutions of Compliance with Multifaceted Privacy Regulations
Financial Institutions underpin the world's economy and play a crucial role in ensuring social equilibrium and geo-political stability. In a cyber-connected world, they are confronted with the unenviable responsibility of compliance with a plethora of regulations aimed at preserving a delicate balance between personal privacy and public security. The onerous list of regulations keeps growing and includes GLBA (1999), FFIEC (1979), FRB (1913), NCUA (1970), and OCC (1863) privacy and compliance, with a history of over 150 years. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an emerging factor, and the SEC and DOJ are increasingly involved in the big picture.
To maintain a competitive edge, multiple teams at financial services institutions must address demands to rapidly adopt new technology, protect intellectual property, and comply with evolving regulatory regimes. Additionally, they must also enable secure access to personal and commercial financial data from a variety of access points (e.g., retail branches, mobile devices, third-party business partners) while combating an increasing volume and sophistication of threats, without jeopardizing cherished values of human rights, national security, and strategic business objectives.
The facilitators, speakers, and audience in this highly interactive webinar will engage in stimulating discussion around compliance issues being faced, innovative approaches to addressing them, evolving integrated compliance programs, and sharing lessons learnt. The topic will be of interest not only to information security professionals, but also to legal and compliance officers, governance and risk management professionals, data privacy officers and all C-suite executives within financial services.
