So, you think you want to work in Cybersecurity? Not sure which way to go? Not sure if you’re doing all you need to do to be successful?

To help our members who are in the “Pre-Professional” and “Entry” levels of their career, we are introducing a new service to help you sort through what might seem like a maze. This Meet-Up will focus on entry level certifications in cybersecurity. This virtual meet-up is geared for the individual who is just starting out in info security and is not fully knowledge about certifications. We will look to answer the following questions:
• What certs are available for a beginner
• What is progression path for certs
• Which are the most valuable when job hunting
• What is the effort level – how long will it take for me to get
• What is the cost prepare and to obtain the certification
• What is the value of a cert vs a degree? Do I need them both?
• Which cert do I need first?
• DO I pursue the cert before the education or both at the same time?
• When do I being to consider “vendor certifications”?

The presentation's guest speakers will include:

Tara Dean: Manager, Government Business Development, Comptia
Jim Michaud: SANS
David Shearer: Executive Director, (ISC)2
