Join Ilene Klein, CISSP, CISM, CIPP/US - Sr Security Engineer, City of Phoenix as she presents " Security Awareness - If Only We Could Beat It into Them "
As security folks, we all know how important security awareness is. We know that if you implement an idiot-proof, technical control, and idiot will still find a way around it. During this presentation, we’ll discuss what makes a good security awareness program, how to overcome the silos and office politics to pool resources for increasing user awareness, and lessons Ilene’s learned by building awareness programs. We’ll also discuss ways to make security more meaningful and engaging for your end users.
For the past 15 years, Ilene Klein has been evangelizing security to anybody who would listen...and to management. During that time, she’s won awards such as the CISM Geographic Excellence Award for earning the highest score in the North America geographical region on the December 2011 CISM examination and the 2012 and 2013 Best of the Web Cyber Security Website for creating the best local government, security awareness website. Ilene has built and led global information security awareness, incident response, vulnerability management, policy, and privacy programs and frameworks. Ilene is often seen running up Camelback Mountain and rescuing stranded bunnies. Her prize-winning pineapple upside-down cake is made right-side up with exotic strawberries. When bored, she organizes neighborhood children into a life-size replica of van Gogh’s Starry Night. Ilene’s operatic styling has won acclaim from world leaders and made grown men weep. Stars are named after her. But all that pales in comparison to the important work she does for the City of Phoenix, helping protect City and citizens’ information.
