Topic: Vulnerability Management Done Right

Summary: A lot of companies still struggle with Vulnerability Management. For many it has become just a checkbox for some regulatory audit and/or a never-ending battle on the "hamster wheel of pain”. While VM will never be something that’s "simple”, with proper planning and tools it doesn’t have to be hard. This talk will cover some of the challenges with VM and introduce ways to build a successful VM program.

Speaker Bio: Kelly Hammons is a CISSP, and has been working in security for 12 years. He spent 6 years with Qualys as a post-sales Technical Account Manager where he got to help his customers build, expand, and improve their Vulnerability Management programs. On the personal side, Kelly is a proud father and lucky husband, is a Private Pilot and Scuba diver, and speaks fluent German.

Topic: World War C — Combating Modern Malware

Summary: Is Cyber War fact or fiction? We will take a look at the recent threats in the industry and elaborate on a fascinating aspect of conflict portrayed to gain a greater understanding of the new dynamic, while helping security professionals understand the motivation and means of their attackers, which should help them to tailor their defenses accordingly.

Speaker Bio: JP Butler is a Sr. Systems Engineer with FireEye and has been active in security for over 8 years. JP has worked at other security firms such as; Splunk, RSA, and Trend Micro. He has also consulted for third party security service firms providing assessments and penetration testing services to top tier Insurance and Telecommunication customers. He has authored integration documents for Trend Micro and maintains technical experience including implementation, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and malware analysis.
