ND ISSA September Membership Meeting

Greetings! School is under way for many and the kids are learning. Now is an excellent time for IT Security professionals to continue their education as well. Come learn with the North Dakota chapter of the Information Systems Security Association on Thursday, September 19th! ND ISSA will be holding an afternoon session at the West Fargo Public Library from 3 PM until 5 PM. We will have two presentations and some time for questions and open discussion.

Building Your Own Hacking/Test Lab 

To learn new tools, new techniques, tear apart malware, or just keep your current skills sharp; you want to conduct this work in a controlled environment that keeps your primary systems safe, but also keeps you out of hot-water from testing on production environments. 
This talk will go over some basic ideas to build a hacking/test lab without having to make significant damage to your beer fund or kids college fund. 

About the Speaker: 
Matt Nelson is an Information Security professional with more than 12 years of information technology experience in a mixed set of disciplines, with 6 years directly in IT Security. Specializing in Incident Response and Digital Forensics with additional experience in Malware Analysis, and Threat Intelligence. Matt is a United States Marine veteran, where he served as an Intelligence System Administrator/Secure Communicator. Matt is also a former President and current Board of Directors member for the North Dakota Information System Security Association (ISSA) Chapter. 

Google Hacking - Still Lame & Still Lucrative

We'll delve into Google hacking and how to find information that really shouldn't be on the internet. We'll look at rigging sweepstakes, violating Kindle WisperNet, and locating sensitive government data - all with only a web browser.
