SCADA isn’t just in Utilities – it’s all around us – it runs our buildings, our
factories and more; and the risks are real and potentially disruptive to
the entire business. For example – think about the business impact if the
heat came on full blast in a casino in the middle of summer? How about in
an office building, warehouse, or factory?
Guest speaker, James Robinson, will share his experiences and
insights regarding the challenges and successes in industrial system (SCADA)
security in non-Utilities environments.

Topic Summary: Updating SCADA and Other Industrial Systems Security
Control systems are created with a specific mission in mind and expected to
have a long and profitable life. How do we update them without disrupting the
availability, integrity and confidentiality they provide? How do we "change the
game” at the organizations where these solutions exist? The key is to
understand control systems, organizations and the threats facing both. In this
presentation, I will explain what worked for me while at Anheuser-Busch and
James Robinson is the Security Architecture and Strategy Officer at Websense.
His key responsibilities are internal security strategy and innovation. James
brings more than a decade of both IT and product engineering security
leadership to Websense. He has previously held leadership positions with
Fortune 150 and Fortune 100 companies including: Emerson Electric,
Anheuser-Busch and State Farm Insurance. Throughout his career James has
delivered solutions for network architecture and application security,
penetration testing, incident response, security and risk assessment, forensics
and investigations and product security.
