New members are a vital part of ISSA; through their involvement in the association they are able to become long-standing and active members of their chapters. Our recent membership survey tells us that most members joined as a result of an invitation from a respected colleague like you. Each one of us has someone in our circle of peers whose knowledge and expertise would be a valuable contribution to the discussion at your next chapter meeting. Extend an invitation today.
Have your guest register today at: https://www.issa.org/Join/Visit.html?chapter
The guest program is limited to one time participation per person. Should there be a fee for the meeting a visitor chooses to attend, chapter guest pricing will apply.
Take time to recognize the outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to ISSA and the information security profession over the past year. The ISSA Awards Committee will be accepting nominations through December 15.
Acknowledge a fellow member of your Chapter. Winners will be honored at the Annual Awards Ceremony as guests of ISSA International. Recipients will also receive an award icon in recognition of their efforts for use on business cards and in correspondence.
Although the formal nomination must be submitted by your chapter president or a sitting member of the ISSA International Board of Directors, you can help by suggesting potential candidates and highlighting their accomplishments. Nomination guidelines are available for download by members (website account required).
Nominations should be sent to the Chairperson of the Awards Committee at 2008_Awards@ISSA.org

Microsoft and ISSA have launched a strategic partnership to support new ISSA chapters during their inaugural year. Twenty chapters will each receive a$500 seed grant to develop their programs and services. The Upstate SC Chapter has been awarded the first grant. Thank you to Microsoft for this investment in ISSA’s mission to serve security professionals worldwide.
We are very excited to announce that several new programs will be offered in 2009 to further enhance our educational offerings for members including quarterly web conferences, white papers and a buyer’s guide. ISSA relies on non-dues revenue to fund these projects as well as the ISSA Journal, webinars, CISO Forums and eNews.
The new 2009 Media Kit highlights the ways companies can support these important services. Request your copy by contacting vendor@issa.org and share the opportunities with your company’s marketing executives and your favorite vendors.
