International Board of Directors Election Begins June 22

On June 22, all eligible voters will receive an email that will include individual voter credentials and a link to the official ISSA International Board Election ballot. The voting window will extend through July 19 at midnight US Pacific time. This is your opportunity to participate in choosing the future leadership of the ISSA, as individuals look to influence how the ISSA provides meaningful value to its members and impacts the information security community.

The following member levels in good standing as of June 21, 2009 are eligible to vote: General, CISO Executive, Corporate Organizational, Government Organizational and Lifetime. Students and temporary members of any kind are not eligible to vote.

Any eligible voter who does not receive credentials should be directed to Elections Support or call (866) 349-5818 within the US, +1 (206) 388-4584 internationally, extension 103 to speak with Dana Paulino.

Before final submission of your ballot, voters have an opportunity to review their selections and print a receipt. The receipt will include a unique confirmation number, which should be kept confidential.

All nominated candidate biographies and goals they wish to achieve as a member of the ISSA Board of Directors are posted and available for your review CLICK HERE. In addition, candidates will also be featured in the June issue of the ISSA Journal.

Call for Chapter Photos and Logos for 25th Anniversary

A photo history is being planned for ISSA's 25th Anniversary Celebration in Anaheim, California, USA on Sunday, September 20. The planning committee would like to showcase your chapter photos and logos.

We would love to have a group photo of your chapter members. Also of particular interest are pictures from your more casual, networking or just plain silly events such as golf tournaments, cruises, picnics - anything that will stimulate conversation and humor. Digital photos are preferred, but if you have older photos you would be willing to lend, we will scan them and return the originals to you.

Share your memorable moments with us. What is the most significant experience or most meaningful achievement you have had as a member of ISSA and why was it important to you?

ISSA's 25th Anniversary Celebration will precede the ASIS International 55th Annual Seminar and Exhibits where ISSA will be sponsoring an information security track. ISSA's 25th Anniversary Celebration

University of Virginia Security Patch Management Survey

The University of Virginia has initiated a survey intended to gather benchmarking information related to the processes and costs associated with security patching activities. Analysis of responses will permit an understanding of how patching varies across business sectors, from company to company within a sector, and between larger and smaller companies. All collected data will be presented only in aggregate and will remain non-attributable and secure. The intent is to expose the results to an audience of government organizations and industrial firms. It is anticipated that the results will be incorporated into a Master's Degree thesis.

Typically the survey takes 15 minutes to complete and in no case more than 20 minutes.
