Tell us what inspired you to join, what you value about your ISSA membership and why you belong. Your input will let us serve you more effectively and help your chapter attract new members.
A membership survey will be coming your way via email within the next few days. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and let us know what is important to you - and get a chance to win one of two $100 VISA gift cards.
You will be asked for your perceptions of ISSA specifically and professional associations in general. This ground-breaking study was created by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) to better understand the factors involved in an individual's decision to join a professional association like ISSA, the expectations of membership and how well associations individually and collectively meet those expectations.
The original study was conducted last year. It involved 18 professional associations including IEEE and received 17,000 responses. ASAE is now giving ISSA the opportunity to use the survey to gather important data about our own organization to help shape our future. At the conclusion of the survey, our data (without any personal identification) will be added to ASAE's databank.
You are cordially invited to join the ISSA International Board of Directors for the Annual Membership Meeting and Installation. The Board will report on their ongoing work, the successes of the past year and goals for the year to come. You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the International President, officers, directors and the new Chapter Presidents Advisory Council (CPAC) delegates.

An independent research survey aimed at understanding how information security professionals are managing their careers, planning for their futures, acquiring information, approaching certification and training, and achieving job satisfaction was recently launched. This survey is the first of its kind, and is being distributed by the ISSA and other information security industry associations. The results of the survey will be shared in the Spring of 2009, in the form of presentations, white papers, and articles. The survey was created by Lee Kushner and Mike Murray, and was inspired by the response to their conference presentations on career management and career development. Dr. Max Kilger, a Senior Advisor to the Honeynet Project, served as an advisor. The survey is independent and without sponsorship, and anyone who currently has a career as an information security professional is encouraged to participate.
More information on the survey can be found at www.infosecleaders.com. The survey is hosted by Survey Monkey and can be found at www.infosecleaders.com/survey.
