Award Categories

Hall of Fame Award

Hall of Fame Award is given in recognition for an individual's contribution to, and for the advancement of the security profession.

Induction into ISSA Hall of Fame is the most prestigious recognition that the Association can bestow upon an individual, and is awarded to those who truly represent the voice of the security practitioner. The recognition is based upon both prior and current contributions to the entire Information Security community, and the candidate does not need to be a member of the Association. Hall of Fame recipients should be recognized for their participation in more than one area of service to the profession - researching, teaching, publishing, speaking, directing information security programs, and developing information security tools. They are those whom we recognize as leaders in the information security profession.

Individual ISSA members in good standing may nominate an individual for ISSA Hall of Fame Award.

Honor Roll

ISSA's Honor Roll is awarded in recognition of sustained meritorious conduct and contribution to, and for the advancement of the Association.

Being placed upon the ISSA Honor Roll is the highest level of recognition that the Association can bestow upon one of its members. Nominees for this award are required to have demonstrated commitment to the Association over a minimum of 7 years membership with at least 10 years in the security field.

The intent is to honor those who have supported the Association as a whole, and so the member should have served as a president, vice-president, or treasurer or served in some other significant capacity for more than one chapter and/or served on the ISSA International Board.

The individual should also be recognized for their activity in at least one area of service to the profession - research, teaching, publishing, speaking, directing information security programs, or developing information security tools.

Chapter of the Year

Note: significant criterion for this award is based on data provided by the ISSA Vice Presidents of Membership & Chapter Relations to the Awards Committee.

Chapters are nominated based upon their activities and growth over the previous three years.
